NEW ALISA!!

Hey MCC fans,

So as I'm sure everyone knows (it's all over the blogosphere), there's a bit of a verbal kerfuffle goin' down here at the MCC. Our resident tea-drinkin' Obama-supportin' Alisa is going to be moving out a bit early to go to central america or the ghana or the yukon or something, and we need to find a new subletter! now, it'll take quite the subletter to fill Alisa's crocs, but the search is on!

anyway, the email list has been blowing up about the role Alisa should take in finding the new subletter. Both Keith and Alisa have extremely valid points, but I think I tend to lean in Alisa's favor on this one. Though her name is on the lease (a-lease-a!!!) we need to look to past precedent to decide these sorts of things. She has already done a lot more work to ensure that the subletter would be someone that the rest of us enjoy than any other person who sublet their room. To be fair, it's a bit of a different situation - rather than 3 weeks, they would be living with us for two months. I would vote that she has done enough work to narrow down the candidates, I think we can take it from here. I would love to set up a joint skype with us and each candidate.

Those are my two cents. Looking forward to discussing it at the house meeting! I can do sunday or monday.

Otherwise, the MCC is kickin' along just fine, thank you. glee has infested our house. my personal glee operates at an inverse relationship to the amount of Glee that is in my general vicinity.

Til next time,
-A

Official MCC movie nomination

Movie: 'Together' 2000 Swedish comedy drama.

Reason for nomination: Incredible parallels with the MCC.

List of parallels:
- They all live in a commune. We've all lived in or have been connected to coops.
- The commune in the movie has one trusty car. We have one trusty car.
- The commune is a predominately vegetarian house that is will to allow meat for those who want it. We are predominately a vegetarian house that will allow meat for those who want it.
- Excluding kids and the abused sister, the commune has 7 residents. We almost have 7 residents.
- Themes of open relationships and sexual experimentation are prevalent in the movie. Phil wants to make out with you.
- Transgender people inhabit the commune. We are open and supportive of transgender people, and depending on how gender gumby works out, may also be inhabited by transgender people.
- In the movie, traditionally heterosexual characters are encouraged to experiment with their gay sides. Alisa.

A Single Man: An Official Review

Last night I went to see A Single Man at the Castro Theatre. Following is my official review.

Colin Firth doesn't really do it for me that much, but Julianne Moore is way hot.

Maybe this movie was not intended for me, since most of it was Colin Firth with a moony face?

Also, they needed to find a compromise between color being washed out and color over-saturation. Come on people we are not in high school photoshop class.
